I am reading this at the moment but not really connecting with it. Has anyone else read it? what did you think?

I've just finished this and really enjoyed it. Do you think it would go down at Book group?

I finished it...I enjoyed bits of it because I follow politics closely, but I thought the book was out of balance. Too much careful build up at the beginning, turning point of the Iraq war too late on and the aftermath of the brother's sacrifice too hurried. Wd have liked other points of view throughout, esp Matt's.

PS Donnie - I tried her earlier book which was written some years ago several times, but never got past the first twenty pages.

londonartemis - I agree completely. Also I felt the characters were very unevenly dealt with. Some of them like Laura and Greg hardly got a look in. I did like Anna though, and empathised with her.

I love books set in London though, as I recognise all the places! So that was something I enjoyed.
