Purple Hibiscus - highly recommended

I've just finished it and it was thoroughly good. If you haven't read it, give it a go.

What sort of book is it? I don't know why but titles with flowers in it always make me think of soft porn/romance books.

It's about a young girl growing up in Nigeria. She has a very autocratic father and there is a lot of domestic tension/violence and intensity. It's very well written. Subtle and moving.
