Yes, loved it. Very tragic story. I didn't know what was coming so it comepletely threw me.

Kuki is quite an interesting character by all accounts. Did it make you want to come to Kenya?

I desperately want to travel round Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar - my father was born in Tanzania as my grand parents were doctors out there, he only moved to England when my grandfather died when he was 14 and my Gran moved back to be close to her family in England.

I really really loved this book, not so keen on African Nights though?
I think I liked the romance of I Dreamed Of Africa at first, read it as a teenager and feel a little bit in love with Emmanuale

i think i read it years ago. not as good as Isak Denisen. maybe it was her writing style.
