Oh, how bloody typical is that? My dad loves Wilbur Smith, it was his birthday on Saturday, went into Waterstones to ask if there was anything new by WS coming out as I know he would be happy to have a late pressie if there was.

Dopey girl said there was nothing and she even asked me if I was sure WS was still alive... grrrr!

Well, exactly - I used to work in bookshops and the new WS h/b was always a big deal!

He's not my cup of tea but his books are always massive bestsellers so she should have been a bit more clued up. She did seem more concerned about getting off to her lunchbreak though
