I just use one of the pretty hardcover notebooks from Waterstones.

Do you really need to have a book journal rather than a notebook?

FlossieT · 29/12/2008 23:20

Waterstones had some gorgeous Penguin-jacket-design-print journals in their Christmas catalogue - but I didn't manage to find a single store that was actually stocking them. grrr.

Must admit that I keep mine online (in a Facebook app and the utterly marvellous LibraryThing).

TimeForMe · 29/12/2008 23:34

I've just bought myself this one
www.amazon.co.uk/Sari-journal-notebook-recycled-friendly/dp/B001B2ECJQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen& qid=1230593636&sr=8-1

and it's lovely!

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 29/12/2008 23:41

this was in Waterstones online sale - is it this one?

fuzzywuzzy · 29/12/2008 23:49

If you have one near you, Paperchase do really pretty, quirky stuff

FlossieT · 30/12/2008 00:07

That's the one - they also had some that were just facsimiles of the classic jacket design with appropriate titles (e.g. A Common Reader). If they're online then they must exist!!

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 30/12/2008 00:18

Floss - i would get one, it does look fab, but not sure if big enough?

expatinscotland · 30/12/2008 00:21

i just go to an art shop and get a spiral bound book with paper that's greater than 80gsm.

and then i just write in it. whatever i feel, whenever i feel, always opening with a quotation, what we had for tea, what the weather was and what i am currently reading.

and the heading: Dear [insert my elder daughter's first initial].

then just go from there.

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 30/12/2008 00:22

btw - this website has quite a few Penguin designs, if that is your thing. We have mugs and pencils.

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 30/12/2008 00:23

expat - do you plan to give the book to DD one day?

expatinscotland · 30/12/2008 00:29

when she is much older, i do. much older

moondog · 30/12/2008 00:31

I use a Moleskine and write religiously every single day.

ramonaquimby · 30/12/2008 00:32
