Bruno I think was imaginary as it says at the end he died in 194o something.

Yes beautifuy written.I couldn't sleep last night and read about 2/3 of it in one go. I couldn't put it down in spite of needing to sleep.

That book is wonderful. I loved it. Imaginary friend. He was lonely, yes. But also part of the imaginary friend thing was quite heart warming, I think, that he survived so long, and had an imaginary friend to get him through it.

I am still left with a feeling of wanting to rescue Bird from his grief.
