i like marian but that isn't one of her best.

Keyes is OK I think - she's quite witty and bright. The plots are completely predictable and there are a few cringeworthy moments, but I have a sneaking fondness for her.

plantsitter · 22/09/2008 14:36

Is that the one where they all keep getting books published all over the place?

In general I like Marian too (not too trashy for chick-lit) but if it's that one it's a bit annoying.

I love Marian Keyes, she's one of my fav authors. I have to admit her books are a little bit samey and chick litty, but definatly worth reading. They always make me giggle

squeaver · 22/09/2008 14:37

I don't do chick lit either but I do like Marian Keyes.

zippitippitoes · 22/09/2008 14:38

it could be it mentions literary agents and book advances and someone called anton on the back

Keyes is OK for a bright easy read sort of ting I think- she's the best of the bunch. Its not her best book (I ,iked Lucy Sullivan) but readable

plantsitter · 22/09/2008 14:42

Well you can always stop reading if it's too irritating. She is quite funny and lots of what she describes is v. 'true'.

zippitippitoes · 22/09/2008 14:43

wel yes...i am in the mood for something easy to read but not utter crap lol

I read a few chicklits on holiday and Keyes was the best of the bunch, instantly forgettable, but easy.

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 22/09/2008 14:46

i don't do 'chick lit' but always read Marian Keyes

she makes me larf

sasamax · 04/10/2008 21:56

Yeah - best Marian is 'Rachel's holiday'I think - or the latest one - 'This charming man'
Best quote - 'have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a radiator?'
