Has anybody read it? I finished it last night and really enjoyed it but am now driven mad trying to figure out what her name is!

IIRC it's Lucy or something similar

boogeek · 08/09/2008 14:26

How do you know?
Ohhh...because that is what the dog is called?
Hmm. Maybe.

yes she has the same name as the dog hence her saying that the bloke had used it all the time

It was a really good book and you might enjoy The People's Act of Love as well. Similar style of story.

it's Lucy. 'you've said it often enough.'

there's only one female name he used often, and that was his dog Lucy's.

OK. It's just I did a bit of a google and saw some alternative theories! Some say she must be called Francis (which I thought ws rubbish) and another that she was telling him she woul dnever be more than "Mrs" to him.
Thanks for the recommendation, too
