i picked this up as i loved the adrian mole books, and remember enjoying a book by her on the royal family in the nineties.
the world described in there, vulcan, the computer system, the health and safety laws, the lack of civil liberties. the exclusion zones. they all terrify me. especially as i can see the uk headed in that direction. is this a modern day 1984? o, and the abolition of books. that was truly scary.
and the end of the book. that terrified me. the electrorate allowed such a thign to happen.
