The Reluctant Fundamentalist - I'm on the last chapter and it is making me cry

Not sure whether to read to the end tonight as I have a big day ahead tomorrow.

Just how bleak does it get - those of you who have read - without spoiling please?

have not heard of this book, who is the author?

Hi TAP - it's Mohsin Hamid - shortlisted for Man Booker Prize of 2007.

Will look into that, need some new books.

Sorry, deserted thread for a wee while there. It is a very good read I think, quite unusually written. Would definitely recommend.

Quite a short read also, I should add.

I just read it yesterday and today. Found it a bit 'meh'. Bit too obvious? Well-written, but not enough going on.

(But I'm mad for Nicola Barker these days, her books are overstuffed with dialects, characters, personalities, subplots ...)

I didn't understand the end.

I loved it...right up until the ending which I thought was a let down.
