Iris Murdoch - 'under the net' - yes or no?

my friend suggested that we both read this before we meet up in a couple of weeks.

would like some opinions....

Must admit she can be hard going. Under the Net is supposed to be one of her lighter offerings too!

I adored 'The Sea The Sea' when I read it about 100 years ago. Haven't read anything else but that was fab.

oh gordon brown - spur me on and make me read it please - i am already eying up other books on my shelf...

i am trying to remember why i liked it.. i think i loved teh characterisation. it made me laugh. all the descriptions of rooms made me feel like i was there. the swimming in the thames bit was great, sort of thing i used to do. also it is her first so it is interesting from that point of view.
