Anyone else reading this?! I’m about 3/4 through and loving it!

I loved it and have bought a copy for several friends. It won the Women's Prize for Fiction too. I love epistolary novels and recommend 84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff if you haven’t already read it.

I read it earlier in the year and really enjoyed it too.

Thank you for the recommendation , I shall take a look.

Just finished it and thought it was great! I loved the way the author manged to change Sybil's register depending on who the letter was written to eg the way she told various family and friends about the car crash at the beginning. Anyone else planning to start writing letters to everyone!?

I read it earlier this year - think I gave it 4 out of 5 stars on GR. I enjoyed it a lot - I loved that the main character was slightly unusual and sometimes quite unlikeable.

Me too! Parts of it have had me close to tears. Very readable so far

I genuinely don't get the love for this book. I didn't dislike it but I didn't love it. I heard about it first on the radio - the critic said it floated under the radar when it first came out but it turned into this huge phenomenon and I'm more with the early readers!

Yes I found her distinctly unlikeable at points. But ironically, I loved that.

Sounds great. Have ordered from the library, which has 75 copies, and 75 reservations. 😵‍💫

I loved it. The main character was horrible at times and at other times I really felt for her and warmed to her. I’d imagine that most of us would be deemed unpleasant at times if others could see our inner thoughts as we could with her-so I think the author did well to get the balance right.
