Crime thriller suggestions for mum

My mum was a huge reader in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s but stopped around 2010 due to poor eyesight (lives in a country where large print titles are rare). I have just given her a Kobo for her birthday and am trying to get some titles for her. Unfortunately our tastes are very different so I would appreciate some recommendations from crime/thriller readers.

She used to love John Grisham, Jack Higgins, Sidney Sheldon, David Baldacci, Dick Francis, Robert Ludlum, Jeffrey Archer etc. She found a large print copy of The First Gentleman by James Patterson and Bill Clinton on holiday and read it in 2 days! So she clearly still enjoys that style.

Could you suggest similar authors/newer titles by her favourites that she might enjoy? Much appreciated.

I've just finished Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz, really enjoyed it. I thoroughly recommend his books, especially the Daniel Hawthorne series.

Peter James has the Inspector Grace series and some standalone novels. Ann Cleves for Shetland and Vera though she might have seen these on TV.
I find "talking books" from my local library good, free on Borrowbox and you can search by genre.

Harlan Coben and Linwood Barclay, I had similar tastes to your mum. In particular the Myron Bolliter series by Coben was really good.

I think you can’t beat the British Library crime classics. Currently I’m listening to Death in Ambush by Susan Gilruth

Peter Grainger the DC Smith books. They are police procedural. A very likeable mai character and supporting cast

Steve Cavanagh, brilliant series called Eddie Flynn.

Val McDermid, Anne Cleeves, L J Ross.

Also if she likes Archwr, he’s had two series over the last decade -Clifton chronicles and Willlam Warwick - that she may enjoy
