Books (or indeed blogs) to help me research SOCIAL WORK in general, and FAMILY COURTS in particular

This is for something I'm writing - anecdotal/personal accounts of life as a social worker and what the job entails (from training to daily life in the job) would be helpful (which is where a blog might come in).

Plus an idiot's guide to the workings of the family court system, especially with reference to how children are taken into care.

Any pointers gratefully received.

Only one I can think of is Shane Dunphy. He is/was a social worker and has published a few books and each book covers 3-4 cases. So a bit like a blog.

I think I also need something that explains how the different areas of social work function - domestic violence, child protection etc

I got hold of a copy of this which is quite useful so far.

Still need some more specific stuff on domestic violence and family courts tho

www.rightsofwomen.org.uk has books on contact and residency, which is the stuff of family courts. have you looked at them?

otherwise www.womensaid.org.uk has loads of stuff on domestic violence
