I'm going to be spending a lot of time in Belfast for work this summer. Can anyone recommend any novels or non fiction I could read?

If not on Belfast then in Northern Ireland more generally?

Have read Milkman and Say Nothing and loved both

Brian Moore's Emperor of Ice Cream (set during WW2), Judith Hearne and the Feast of Lupercal are all brilliant novels. Also David Park. 'Swallowing the Sun' is set in a more recent Belfast about a man taking revenge on the drug dealer who killed his daughter. Glenn Patterson has written a lot of novels set in the city. Robert McLiam Wilson has a couple, 'Eureka St' which I think was made into a TV series. And Joan Lingard as pps mention.
