Sexy reads for summer holiday?

Inspired by the ‘wrong book for a holiday’ thread I’d love some suggestions for sexy (but not terribly written) books to take away this year please?

Once read a few too many Crime books and kept thinking everyone else at the resort was a murderer. Much rather spend the week in a romantic/sexy mood than a scary one! (I’m sure DH would have a better holiday that way too!)

Can’t go wrong with Jilly Cooper or Jackie Collins!

On All Fours by Miranda July. It’s not overly sexy but very well written and quirky. If you want something more like 50 Shades, then this isn’t the book for you though.

Emily Henry books. My favourite is Funny Story. They feel like a 90s / 00s rom com and are well written. Also agree with Jilly Cooper but a lot of them are very long and tbh not that sexy (in my opinion- but they are v entertaining and funny).

Thanks everyone.

I’m definitely not after 50 Shades. I’ll take better writing/story over OTT sex. Just after that balance of a decent story but also some more believable sex scenes.

Nice to just turn off from the bad stuff and stresses of the world for 10 days!

Jennifer Cruisie - comic romance

Rebecca Chance - 'bonkbuster' type novels. Especially 'Bad Brides'. (I first heard about it on here)

Robinne Lee - 'The Idea of You'

This was the book that inspired me to start the ‘reading the wrong books on a holiday’ thread 🤣 I loved All Fours by Miranda July, exactly the kind of book I love and very well written in my opinion but it was the wrong style for my summer holiday last year. It made me feel as though I just wanted to be by myself which wasn’t a helpful feeling on a family holiday 🤣

Sylvia Day‘s Crossfire series are good holiday reads. I think they’re quite well written. Not literary fiction by any stretch. I second The Idea of You mentioned above as well.

Ha! I read the book and then booked a 2 week solo holiday for myself😊
