I’m approaching the end of this book sadly. I read a great deal but it has been a long time since a book has got me into this sort of emotional wreck.

what do I try next?

The author has a new book out, A Far-flung Life, which I loved. I haven’t read The Light Between Oceans though so can’t say how similar it is.

Can’t help with recommendations but thanks for the thread because I loved the film version of the Light between Oceans, didn’t realise it was based on a book. Bookmarking!

Ah I didn’t spot the new book. shall try that.

@NoraLukacannot recommend the book highly enough. Although you need tissues.

I loved The Light between oceans, but found The Great Alone only okay.
what about All the Light We Can Not See or Broken Country.

The Time Traveller's Wife had me sobbing when I read it 20 years ago at University

You might like Wild Dark Shore - also features a lighthouse and someone washing ashore.
