I love it when I find an author I can immerse myself in.

Last year I read all of the Dr Ruth Galloway books by Elly Griffiths and loved them all.

Started with the Mermaids Singing and enjoying it so far (although a do skim read some of the gory bits).

Apparently she's written 35 books and 11 in the Tony & Carol series.

Music to my ears

I have read quite a few of hers but I think she has gone off a bit in the last few years.

A Place of Execution is her best novel, imo.

She's an excellent writer but I struggle with the gory bits. I don't understand why writers think it's necessary to be so graphic.

I liked her early books but she’s too graphic now, has been for years. I think there’s something seriously wrong with someone who has such sick thoughts.

I love the Karen Pirie ones but haven't read any of her other books.

I adore her books, especially the Tony and Carol series. You’re in for a treat!

I didn't enjoy the graphic style to be honest and skim read those parts but I liked the characters. Are all of the Tony and Carol ones so gory?

I love it when you discover a new author, and then discover that they have a series with many, many titles!

I also love Val McDermid. Enjoy!
