Books about the Vietnam War?

Can anyone please recommend any non fiction books about this? Trying to broaden my knowledge!

If you can get hold of 'The Women' Kristin Hannah (fiction) she gives quite an extensive bibliography of the non fiction books she used to inform her writing.

There’s an amazing book called Four Hours In My Lai, by Michael Bilton and Kevin Sim.

Forget Lord of the Flies. This will unpick everything you ever thought possible from a western democracy and put it through a moral blender.

It’s based on the documentary they made. There’s a valuable reference section (bibliography), and I think the documentary is available on YouTube and the book is available online.

A Rumor of War, by Philip Caputo. It’s his autobiographical novel about his experiences as a young US Marine lieutenant during the Vietnam war.

Most popular fiction and non-fiction about the war is very focussed on the American viewpoint. If you want something that examines the war from a range of perspectives then listen to the Empire podcast about the war (episodes 176 to 178). You could also look at some of the books on this list: The Vietnam War.
