Does A Suitable Boy work as an audiobook?

I've never read it and I'm time poor but I love audiobooks. Will audio do justice to this work? There is a 68 hour unabridged version on Audible.

One of my favourite books. I think it could work very well as an audiobook. It’s a very warm and human book with lots of genuinely likeable characters. There’s a lot of different storylines so keeping track of everything might be more tricky with an audiobook though.
If you’re unlikely to read it I would definitely get it on Audible as it should be consumed one way or another!

Loved that book so much when I read it back in the 90s. It's long but it's fabulous, the characters felt so real. There's a BBC adaptation from 5 or 6 years ago, not sure if it's still on iplayer or now streaming elsewhere.

I tried the BBC one, it is more of a play than an audio book, I didn't stick with it. I did love it back in the day, I remember us all talking about it at work and how long it was taking us all to read it. 68 hours for one credit on Audible sounds like great value!
