no, YANBU
actually though you may like it and surprise yourself
possibly?

am not being book snob, but I'd set my heart on a Barbara Pym

I've read every Barbara Pym though, so I suppose a Wilbur would be a change!

haven't read any B Pym yet,so hope we can do one of hers !

I read a Wilbur Smith on holiday once - it was the only thing I could find - called River God - and it was really good - give it a go - you might enjoy it.

How do you choose the books in your group? If everyone gets to choose one it's only fair that you read another person's choice if everybody else has read yours. Also, one good thing about a book group is that you read things that you would never pick up yourself.

that's very true dalek - I've read quite a few that I'd never pick up..I just didn't fancy this one - I think it's because I read so slowly these days that I only ever seem to read book group choices and feel a bit resentful that I can't have something I'd really like !

Give it a go - if you really hate it stop reading it - I am sure that nobody will mind if you've at least tried to read it - good luck x

thanks !
