For full disclosure I am a listener rather than a reader. I started this on my commute yesterday and it initially seems a bit of a departure from her previous books, but I am very intrigued to see where it goes and where the child has come from.

I’ve just started reading this book last night aswell. Like you say it does seems a bit different from her previous ones I’ve read so far but I’ve borrowed it from a friend who assures me it is well worth reading and I must admit to being intrigued as to who the child is and where she has come from.

I have never read her books before but just finished The four winds. Initially, I didn’t think I would last long with it as I found it so bleak, but I persevered and really glad that I did. I found it so interesting this huge piece of American history that I knew very little about.

I was going to read The great alone next but perhaps I’ll give The wild a try…

I have finished the Wild, as always huge amounts of research and I enjoyed it.
@TappaMcFeetyif you like the putting women in their place in history I would suggest The Women and The Nightgale women in 2 different wars.

I think I read this book as "Magic Hour" by Kristin Hannah. I loved it. Are this author's other books as good? I have read the synopsis and not really liked the sound of them as much.

They are very good - I have enjoyed them all bar one - the sequel to 'Firefly Lane' too woke for me lol

Try 'Firefly Lane' and definitely 'The Nightingale'

So many of them are good!

The Great Alone was a good read.
