I love Catherine's books, have read them all including this newest one.

The characters in her books have lives far removed from mine, with all the hunting and grand estates etc. I'm Australian for starters. Perhaps that's why I find them such good escapism. That plus she really is a funny writer- her descriptions of the characters/situations can make me LOL.

One annoyance- she re-uses names so much! I've lost track of the Flora's, Ludo's, Hugh/Hugo's and so on.

In the latest book one main character is Ginnie. I thought it might be related to Ginnie in "Her Husband Next Door" and it took me a chapter or 2 to realise it wasn't.

Annabel & Her Sisters has a strong religious theme which doesn't resonate with me as an atheist. However some of the detail on how catholic priests can be married and NOT be celibate was interesting.

Anyone else like her books as much as me?

I really liked her earlier books but I do feel now they’re getting a bit repetitive - the heroine in each one is basically the same person (just with a different number of family members and maybe slightly older with each book) and the plots are quite similar. I agree with you on the names! I do always read her books though and do enjoy them as a bit of escapism.
