This novel was recently published.
Probably this year, definitely the past few years.

Two women are friends, I’ll call them woman A and B.
Woman B’s daughter, a child, goes missing.
Woman A begins to suspect her husband, the circumstantial evidence builds, as do A’s suspicions.

Did he take the child? I don’t know because I haven’t read it!
Does the child eventually turn up alive? Again I don’t know!

Does anyone know the novel I’m describing is please?

@Londondreamer by Catherine Steadman?
If so, I’ve read that and it’s nothing like the synopsis above.
Is there a Family Game by another author?

I don't know, but it sounds like a book I'd enjoy if some else knows what it's called.

have you read 'Now you see her'. Heidi perks. I enjoyed that.

Yes, I have read ‘Now You See Her’ and I liked it.
@AutumnCosy2025 if you are interested in another taught thriller, nothing to do with children, I recommend Shiver by Allie Reynolds.

The novel I’m describing; I got the impression that the plot largely focuses on the friend of the missing girl’s mother and her (the friend’s) suspicions of her husband.
I got the impression that the tightness of the writing lies in the woman living with him and her looking for signs of his potential guilt.
Hopefully that’s not too garbled!

'No One Saw A Thing' by Andrea Mara?

I read something similar where it’s a son who is suspected and it ends up that it’s the dad. Can’t remember what it was called.

Think I would like your book anyway OP.
