Does anyone recognise this scene from a novel?

Please help! My friend and I both think we recognise a situation from a novel but we can’t work out which novel it is from. It involves one character having lunch with another - they are having a ploughman’s lunch and one character calls it a ploffman’s lunch! I think it is David Nicholls You are Here but my friend is adamant she hasn’t read it. I have flicked through the book and can’t see it. Anyone have any ideas? We are driving ourselves crazy comparing reading lists!

According to AI, it's from this play, but I have cheated using AI before on these threads and it's backfired as nonsense!

I think it’s in Roald Dahl’s The Witches.
