Anyone still read her? I saw a 2nd hand set of her hardbacks recently. I read several as a teenager, but I hadn't thought about her for decades.

Anyone got any favourite books of hers?

I’ll take Manhattan and Princess Daisy may have been the reason my A Levels went a bit awry ….

divingworldchampion · 21/07/2025 20:42

Oh I loved her books! Mistral’s daughter was my favourite.

Ilovemyshed · 21/07/2025 20:43

Oh Mistral’s daughter!

OrsolaRosso · 21/07/2025 20:44

Yes, Mistral's daughter!

AloofResponse · 21/07/2025 22:13

Scruples Two. Not a great novel. But I read a particular scene at the end of Chapter 6 so often, my copy automatically fell open at this point.

tealhighnecklongsleeve · 22/07/2025 07:20

Thanks. They had "Mistral's Daughter" and "Scruples 2" in the 2nd hand set I saw for sale, so I'll get them next time I'm in town.

I remember enjoying I'll Take Manhattan. My nan had it and I think I read it when I was 14 and was appalled and titillated in equal measure!

Brownbearwhitebear · 22/07/2025 13:33

I wish you could get them on Kindle, the books are massive!

Overtheatlantic · 22/07/2025 13:44

When I was 13, reading Princess Daisy taught me a thing or two about sex. 😆

CrystalSingerFan · 22/07/2025 14:53

I'm a big Krantz fan and re-read the paperbacks I still own.

Yes to both Scruples and especially Mistral's Daughter, but I also recommend 'Lovers'. AI summarizes it as "Lovers is pure Krantz, an intoxicating dance of love lost, stolen, and found among women and men who lure each other with potent combinations of money, talent, ambition, and passion." What more could peeps want?

BestIsWest · 22/07/2025 14:58

I read them all avidly and learned so much from them as a teenager! Not just about sex but fashion, art, photography etc. I must be due a read of Scruples again.

I wish they were on Kindle too.

Oh, Princess Daisy! Nan had that one too 😀

JaneJeffer · 22/07/2025 15:52

Naughty nan 😅

divingworldchampion · 22/07/2025 19:34

I think I’m going to have to get Princess Daisy! I know I’ve read it and I too learnt a lot but I can’t remember what it’s about at all.

tealhighnecklongsleeve · 22/07/2025 19:48

Got the couple I mentioned. Had a peek at Ch.6 of "Scruples 2" on the way home. Goodness me...😳

I think I have read them all and have most of them on my shelves. I loved the mini series for tv but hard to find then streaming anywhere now.

Ilovemyshed · 23/07/2025 09:28

In a similar vein but not Judith K … Shirley Conran’s Lace and Lace 2

I bought Lovers recently but haven’t read it yet. I need to get through Scruples and Scruples 2 again first. I think I’d grown out of Judith Krantz and moved on to Jilly Cooper by the time it came out.

Oh yes, though if you want happy endings for everyone you probably need to forgo Lace 2 😆

Hey! Enjoy.

Oddly I'm currently re-reading L'Apassionata (JC) and sulking because my catsiting host promised I could watch the recent TV series on their giant TV but they lied. 😥

Afraid I thought the fish scene in "Lace" was ridiculous, rather than shocking or erotic.
