What is the strangest / weirdest (in your opinion) book that you have ever read but HAD to finish?

Mine is Better to Eat you With by Amber Garza

Little, Big by John Crowley.

I absolutely love it, I've read it several times. But it's weird.

Maybe others won’t think it odd, but I found Our Wives Under The Sea really strange!

Maybe Naked Lunch. I read a lot of unusual books so it’s hard to pick one, and of course, they’re al strange in unique ways!

I’m Thinking Of Ending Things

Heart Breaker by Claudia Day. It was wierd but I became immersed in the world she created. I loved it by the end.

I loved House of Leaves by Mark Z Danielewski. A thoroughly terrifying book. I read a lot of unusual fiction but this one is my favourite.

Piranesi. Had no idea what was going on.

The particular sadness of lemon cake by Aimee Bender .. A book I wish I could read as if the first time .. the ending was a total surprise

also agree with House of Leaves

a trilogy which is odd but good

After it being recommended to me by lots of people on here I read Naomi’s Room. It’s such a silly and weird story, I finished it though.

I’ve just read this and I hated it.

The Vegetarian by Han Kang

The Restraint of Beasts and All Quiet on the Orient Express, both by Magnus Mills. Very readable and unsettlingly odd.

The Salt Grows Heavy by Cassandra Khaw. I loved it and it has one of the best covers I've ever seen.

I came on to add this one! So strange. Unforgettable though.

My aunt bought me Geek Love by Katherine Dunne for (I think it was) my 13th birthday, I was definitely a young teen. No idea why she thought that was a good choice for a kid but it's certainly stayed with me!

I can't remember the name but it was about 2 twin sisters who lived near Highgate cemetery and one became possessed by the ghost of someone. It started off quite good but it ended up being utter trash by the end.

I second this - I love its weirdness though.
