Does anyone else only read non fiction?

I really struggle with "getting in" to fiction and understanding characters and how they influence the plot and to that end very rarely read fiction (I can manage re-reads of mainly children's books though). I've only met one other person like that to my knowledge. Anyone else?

I have definitely noticed recently I prefer non-fiction. I do still read fiction but has to be very plot-driven and without too much flowery description. I have that thing where you can't see pictures in your mind, I can only visualise things if I concentrate really hard so I think that's why I prefer stuff that I don't need an imagination for!

I can read fiction, and enjoy some, but more the bases in a true story type.

I read a huge amount, always have.

for me it’s science fiction or fantasy I cannot read. My mum always recounts me saying I refused to read Harry Potter because it wouldn’t happen. Yet my daughter adore it and I read it with her.

I’ve enjoyed things like American dirt, a million pieces, for example.

loved BA Paris behind closed doors but hated her other books.

I think because I could see it happening and relate it to people I know.

so yes, really interesting OP.
