I'm about halfway through this on audio at the moment, and just wondered if anyone else is reading or recently finished it?

I absolutely loved it initially, but I'm starting to tire a little of it. Possibly because my last listen was Eric Puchner's Dream State, which felt slightly similar and a bit better

Finished it recently in hard copy - I absolutely loved it. I found it a bit slow in the middle, but was pleased I persevered

Ah, maybe that's why I'm finding it a bit slow just now - I'm at the bottom of the U-shaped curve!! I'm not far on from the part where Elizabeth goes to the group where they're all talking about the things they're grateful for that aren't actually happening...

Read it last year - absolutely loved it. As pp says, stick with it!

I really enjoyed it overall, but felt it could have been a bit tighter in places.

I had to look Nathan Hill up to double check he really was male though as parts of it felt much more like female writing to me.

@chouxchoux @abnerbrownsdressinggown thanks both! I had been really enjoying it but the past few days felt a bit of a slog. However, I've just spent my lunchtime walk listening to 40 mins which included the double date with Kate and Kyle, which I really enjoyed!

After finishing Wellness I went straight to his prior novel The Nix - which I also loved, but shares a bit of the bloat that Wellness does. Still highly recommend that one for anyone who enjoyed Wellness!

Lovely, thank you! I love a long book and have so many on my physical TBR, so after the audio of Elif Shafak's There Are Rivers in the Sky (as a change from epic American novels narrated by very similar male voices), I'll give The Nix a listen. I noticed when The Guardian reviewed Wellness, The Nix got a complimentary mention!

Ooooh, thanks!
