Has anyone read Dreamland, by Rosa Rankin-Gee? I finished it weeks ago and I'm still thinking about it, which is a big deal for a voracious reader like me.

Just wondering if anyone else had read and what you thought.

I read it a few years ago, and then read The Last Kings of Sark shortly after. I really enjoyed both although very different. Dreamland is bleak AF in a good way, she writes very well.

Just reading this now and really enjoying it. I see that they are currently filming in Margate which is what prompted me to read the book. I'm not far from Planet Thanet and spent lots of time at Dreamland as a kid/teen so really loving all the local references.

Yes its definitely a book that stayed with me, it's bleak but somehow also so human. Also some variation of dangerously plausible lately.

Just finished it. Wish she'd written a sequel!

After seeing this thread I dug it out of the unreads on my kindle. Definitely one that will stay with me, excellent book

It is well written, but I had to put it down due to its bleakness. Too real for me, dangerously plausible as a PP said. i'm not averse to a grim tale, but something about this one got under my skin, which is a testament in itself I guess.
