Just started this. Been having difficulty finding an interesting not too hard going book. And wondered if anyone had read it. There's a film too. Is that worth looking out for. Circuses fascinated me when I was a child.

I listened to this on audiobook many years ago and I enjoyed the book. I watched a bit of the film but found ot dull in comparison. I rarely find a film is better than the book and find it irritating when it strays from the storyline. That said, the film is a bit easier/ lighter. The book is quite hard /sad in places and the awful cruelty is more vividly depicted in the book, the film for obvious reasons skirts around this.

I wasn't expecting it to be sad. I agree films are hardly ever better than the book and usually much worse with a lot missed out or even a different ending. Circuses were awful as regards treatment of animals. I didn't find this out till many years later.

I loved it enough to read it twice. Loved the film too.

I've not seen the film. Not seen it listed anywhere. Sounds good. Still not got round to reading the book. Got three on the go. Big mistake.

I read it years ago but don't remember it very well.
I seem to remember that the main female character annoyed me for some reason!

If you like circuses, then I can highly recommend The Night Circus by Erin Morganstern!
