Got this yesterday as an audiobook.

Really enjoying it. Made me 5 minutes late for work this morning!

For those that don't know or just think the name is familiar, this is the singer of heavy metal outfit Judas Priest. He is reading it and I love his accent. Although I have none of his records I do know some of the songs.

He is one of the few openly gay guys in this genre and I loved hearing about his childhood and how he got a gay book and smuggled it home (his parents found it, and his dad knew of the dildo he hid in a closet!!!), also you hear about his drink and drugs etc etc.

If you are a fan, or just love heavy metal, or even just love reading about people's lives this is a lovely book.

I don't think so. Not sure. It sounds 'genuine' but what do I know! I love hearing his accent! He was brutally honest in it. It amazed me how his Dad found out about certain gay reading and the dildo in his closet but did not make too much fuss. And when he got crabs, his Dad went and got some stuff from the chemist for him! Also amused me when he was on Top of the Pops the same time Donny & Marie Osmond were on. Marie complained about his having whips (as part of his act). He just marched in there while she was in rollers having her make up done, introduced himself and said it was part of his act and he would keep it in his act! After all he did not want an American telling him what he could and could not do on stage!
