Pregnant museum curator book?

Trying to remember the name of this book, about a pregnant museum curator, the character was so well written, I loved it... Anyone?

Thanks so much for replying! I read it about 25 years ago, so I can't remember much, it was literary fiction style. The main character was a museum curator who was very pregnant and it was centred on her life, relationships and character, she had a dry sense of humour. As part of the story you got to understand how she put exhibitions together, her expertise in her areas and passion for the things vs what would be popular, it was really fascinating. But the main pull was this great character. Sorry to be ridiculously vague!!
