Books with a chapter a day

Hello. I started a thread on this last year but now I can't find it! I'll post again for new ideas anyway...

Every year I read one or two books every day of the year. In the past I have read and enjoyed:

  • Shakespeare every day of the year
  • Tolstoy's Almanac
  • The Bible (divided into daily readings)
  • Everyday Shakespeare
  • 365 Poems for Life
  • Petite Philosophie du Matin

I really enjoy something short to read every morning in addition to the book I am currently reading. Does anyone else do this and do you have any recommendations for similar titles? (I am looking for something already divided up into daily readings rather than just reading a bit a day, particularly interested in something philosophical or spiritual in some way but open to any suggestions!) Thanks!

You could try Awakening by Shakti Gawain. Short passage for each day.

If you like poetry, Brian Bilston's 'Days Like These' features a poem for each day of the year, inspired by something that happened on that day.

War and Peace is the classic example of this, there are various readalongs online. There are 361 chapters, each about 4 pages long.

We're have a Count of Monte Cristo readalong on here next year. It won't take all year to do though, think there are 112 chapters from memory.
