brilliant book.
What did you think of the ending?
Bit of a shocker.I thought ,kept wondering..but how do you actually know what happened with the 3 girls..you're guessing!

was a while ago, but I can also recommend her other book - Fall On Your Knees (I think)

Isn't it quite harrowing?
I'm not sure I'm up for that tbh.

I was given the book by my sister (who knows and has worked with Ann-Marie Macdonald and so, a big supporter).

I found it just too hard to carry on with. Since becomming a parent, some storylines involving children just chill me and I can't do it.

So gave up after a few chapters... Maybe will come back to it in a few years. All the other women in my family have read it and loved it.

Fall on your knees so much better (came before the crow)

brimfull · 01/05/2008 19:31

really hana

I will have to read it.
It was book of the month wasn't it.

I did read fall on your knees and really enjoyed it, but I realise that its slightly melodramatic storyline might not be to everyone's taste.

And isn't Fall on Your Knees the MN book of the month?

hana · 01/05/2008 19:32

yes - I was really disappointed with it - found it hard to get into and didn't like the storyline of abuse with the schoolkids - who wants to read about that? not sure I ever finished it to be honest

Laundry Fairy (love your name) you're right - we've just done Fall on Your Knees as April's Bookclub book - see what everyone thought here...

And if anyone fancies reading one of this year's Orange Prize shortlisted novels, we're voting on them for May's book of the month, poll closes at 8pm tonight - you can check them all out here.
