Hi all, I've been racking my brains to remember the title of a book I read years ago and want to re read. I'm hoping you absolute geniuses will be able to help me!
Set in London, main character is a recent university graduate who has been temping for a while, she lives in a house share with her boyfriend and others. Her boyfriend gets a job as a (I want to say finance manager) and begins an affair with a mutual acquaintance. She has various high flying friends and acquaintances. One of whom she goes to stay with after the affair comes out.
The story follows her through her various temping jobs, from memory and there are several side stories, including one where one of her house mates is raped and they pay the rapist back by hacking his computer and making it look like he has committed fraud. Only it turns out he already was. Also one where she works for a telesales company who defraud her out of her first months pay claiming it as training costs.
She ends up working for an oil company but she is sacked for pointing out the oil platform can't work because it is top heavy.
I remember most of the book except the stupid title!!
