Have just finished listening to Unruly on audible...fancy some historical fiction know.

Nothing too heavy and I quite fancy the Tudor period.

Is PG a good call?

The other Boleyn girl is fantastic

TheSilkWorm · 14/11/2024 08:28

Her older ones yes for sure. She lost her way and got a bit boring over the past few years. I do love the wideacre trilogy though that's not Tudor.

SheilaFentiman · 14/11/2024 08:28

Agree - The Other Boleyn Girl is the first and one of the best.

CocoapuffPuff · 14/11/2024 08:30

The Other Boleyn Girl, followed by The Boleyn Inheritance and The Constant Princess.

SheilaFentiman · 14/11/2024 08:31

I think The Lady of the Rivers is very good, but it’s the first in the Wars of the Roses series so quite a bit earlier (the main character is Henry VIII’s maternal great-grandmother)

Modranihtandtomtens · 14/11/2024 08:35

I enjoyed the White Princess trilogy, and Fairmiles too. But if you like the Tudors then The Other Boleyn girl is where to start

MonkeyTennis34 · 14/11/2024 08:44

Thanks all!

I'm sure it'll be on audible.

If you want ‘normal people’ as opposed to royalty then start with Tidelands (the next one is Dark Tides and then Dawnlands). Love her.

ToThineOwnSelf · 14/11/2024 08:46

Earthly Joys and its sequel Virgin Earth.

The Fairmile trilogy.

They’re not about kings or queens but very very good!

SheilaFentiman · 14/11/2024 08:46

And if you haven’t already seen it, Wolf Hall on iplayer is fantastic.

I liked The Last Tudor, which starts with the fairly familiar story of Jane Grey and then moves on to her younger sisters, whose true stories are less well known but full of their own drama.
