I need recommendations for good thrillers.

I'm a huge Mark Edwards fan. I got hooked from the Magpies and I've read them all.

I slso loved Girl on the train and Gone girl.

What else would I enjoy getting into?

I was just about to recommend Follow You Home by Mark Edwards Grin

I don't think Gone Girl is in the same league TBH.

The Stillhouse Lake series by Rachel Caine are unputdownable.

Following for ideas as I love Mark Edwards books.

Currently reading Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera which I’m enjoying so far.

Also enjoyed The Push by Ashley Audrain and Girl A by Abigail Dean.

Paula Hawkins (girl on a train) new book? The Blue Hour. I enjoyed it.

Into The Darkest Corner - Elizabeth Haynes

Sunnydays10 · 07/11/2024 23:19

john marrs books!

Oneearringlost · 07/11/2024 23:24

"The Push" Audrey Audrain was v good...quite complex and really well written, her second book was more aimed at the popular market, imo.

The Jo Nesbo 'Harry Hole' books are superb. Read them in order though.

RampantIvy · 08/11/2024 06:34

I second Jo Nesbo, and Peter May, especially the Lewis Trilogy.

Allan Eskens is great

Mick Herron books. I'm really enjoying the Zoë Boehm series.

Just discovered TG Reid’s DCI Bone and loving them. All on Kindle Unlimited.

Mercurial123 · 08/11/2024 07:16

Devotion of Suspect X is really, really good.

plarn · 08/11/2024 08:32

Lisa Jewell has some good thrillers, the family upstairs in particular.

Newgirls · 08/11/2024 08:38

a local author wrote Someone like you, about actors, which is really good. Different from a lot of thrillers. Audio book was very good.

i liked the first Bella Mackie book but not the second so much

ObtuseMoose · 08/11/2024 13:41

Dying for Christmas by Tammy Cohen.

Tortielady · 08/11/2024 21:38

If you like police procedurals, Jane Casey, Tana French and Val McDermid are all brilliant.

Fireworknight · 08/11/2024 21:48

The Hide - Nell Paterson - loved this book

Three Jours - Rosemary Lupton - another superb book

ihaveanaughtydog · 08/11/2024 21:52

I am Pilgrim, a fantastic book. I can't remember who it's by but it'll be easy to find. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Poffy · 08/11/2024 21:57

I like Tim Weaver. He writes a series about a PI who searches for missing people.
Also anything by Claire McGowan.

ChiChiRaRa · 08/11/2024 22:06

Another vote for Tim Weaver - the David Raker missing series is fantastic!! Also, Michael Wood's Detective Matilda Darke series is great

ReadingInTheRain583 · 09/11/2024 14:14

Harlan Coben is usually a good bet

John Marrs if you like twisty books

His & Hers by Alice Feeney kept me guessing pretty much to the last page

I'm currently reading Defence by Steve Cavanagh and it's different, definitely drawing me in. I'm only about 1/4 the way through but the reviews on Good Reads are good

Papyrophile · 09/11/2024 14:20

My discoveries from the last few years have been Chris Hammer (small town Aussie noir) and Joel Dicker, who is Swiss but sets his novels in New England, mostly.

Just come on to recommend None of This is True by Lisa Jewell too
