Do you recognise this book? About ballet dancers...

I read this a lot of years ago, at least 10 years I should think. It's a modern novel about a troupe of ballet dancers. I think they went touring - to Venice maybe?

One character was called Amber.
One character had an eating disorder.
There was some unrequited lesbian love.

I've done loads of googling but I just can't find it. I read it in paperback. I have a lot of Black Swan paperbacks from that era but I can't find it.

I'd love to read this again. Please does anyone recognise it from the sparse and possibly inaccurate details I have supplied? 🩰

Sadly, I've just found it on Goodreads and the concerns us is that it's pretty awful. What a shame. I really enjoyed it at the time. I was th8nk ing of choosing it for our book club but maybe not,

You might enjoy 'a circling star' which is about a girl in Russia training for the royal ballet. I did (although it was years ago and it might not have aged well!)

Mara Kay’s Circling Star has been reprinted and I’ve ordered a copy for less than £10.

A Circling Star (Mara Kaye) is a children's book first published in 1973. I loved it as a child. Original copies are horrendously expensive and hard to find but I think it was republished a few years ago as a more affordable paperback.
