The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters is a great spooky story / psychodrama. Takes place in a dilapidated manor house in a quintessentially English village in the 1940's.

It's not cosy, and it's not funny, But The Shining is set near Christmas time, and it's not as scary as the film. Not yet, anyway, I'm not finished yet ! Just nearly. And its one of the best books I've read

Winter Spirits - a collection of different type of short stories.

The Haunting Season. It's a collection of short spooky stories for the winter. I thoroughly enjoyed it, eventhough it's not my usual genre. It won't scare the daylights out of you - I absolutely hate horror and being scared. I've ordered the follow up, The Winter Spirits to read in December.

I've also got Christmas is Murder, a short story collection by Val McDermid to read that I found in a charity shop.
And I'm also eyeing up The Christmas Card Crime and Other Stories - another collection of short stories that I've spied in my local library.

There's definitely a theme here! 😂

Or what about something like Hercule Poirot's Christmas. Also, take a look in the works for cosy Christmas reads.

@InnerPlop had a look, good reviews. I've added it to my Amazon basket. I need to branch out my reading a bit. Thanks

Naomi's Room, Not cozy but it is set around Christmas and is spooky.

Christmas Days by Jeanette Winterson short stories featuring liberal helpings of ghosts and magic. Not at all scary but very cosy and Christmassy.
