I was wondering if any has read Noahs Ark by BT?
I came across her recently, and enjoyed The Travelling Hornplayer. So was delighted to find Noahs Ark in a charity shop.
But I must admit that I find it an uncomfortable read - vile male characters, a dormat heroine and more. I'm skipping past bigger and bigger chunks to get through it.
I was wondering if it was just me.

I think I read it a million years ago, but don’t remember much about it — certainly some of recurring tropes, like a near-fetish for extreme passivity in her heroines, are pretty irritating. But if you have read The Travelling Hornplayer, haven’t you read Brother of the More Famous Jack, which is where we first meet Katherine, Jonathan, Roger etc, and which for me is easily her best novel? And the next best for me are Temples of Delight and Juggling, which similarly focus on the same set of characters (though not the Goldmans).

I must have read Brother Of The More Famous Jack half a dozen times in the 80s. I loved it then, and Noah's Ark too. I need to go back and see if I feel the same about her work.

Not sure I ever read Temples of Delight, I'll look that one up.
