Book group's meeting tonight and person choosing next book has just pulled out; I need to come up with a suggestion but my mind's gone blank! Looking for something not too long (300/350 pages) - everything I think of I've either read or its 500+ pages!
Please help!!

Hanif Kureishi - Intimacy. Only 160 pages, but harrowing stuff.

We have just done Resistance by Owen Sheers - it's 353 pages (!) but everyone loved it. It's about a community in Wales in a version of WWII where Germany successfully invaded the UK. It's very thought provoking and also readable!

My suggestion for our bookgroup is probably going to be either thirteenth tale or Suite francaise Mainly because my Mum recommended them for my book group and she did the same with my choice last year and it won (we score them).

Books we've enjoyed in our book group have been Isabel Allende Daughter of Fortune, Half a yellow sun, erm erm can't think of anymore...

Yup, loved 13th tale. Everyone else loved Suite Francaise too but I wasn't so sure myself, don't know why..
