Has anyone read it? I've got a question and think i might have missed something?

Guess that's just me with questions then.

Is this book 1? I know he ha a new hardback out. My mum has read it and enjoyed it so I was going to take her copy but not picked it up yet
Do you not like it?

I enjoyed it yes and bought the sequel the other day on the Kindle Daily deals.

The question was that the defendant asked for a certain Barrister because "he's the best". It's implied that he was told to use this Barrister, who is pretty inept but it's never explained who encouraged the defendant or why. Think I might have missed a bit.

It’s ages ago I read it so I really can’t remember how it worked out, but hadn’t the barrister been recommended by someone in every expectation that they would fail to do their job properly? But this backfired because the committed pupil actually did some work?
