I haven't.
Am waiting for price to fall.
Is it as badly written as the last 3 or 4 or has there been a sudden resurgence in talent?

No one then.
Wow, I know the penultimate one was truly painful to read, but even so....

Oh, no I haven't read it
I agree, they are badly written, but the first one hooks you in, then you just want to see what happens.

I gave up a few books ago, as the library didn't have the last few.
May order them in and read them all in a one-er

First one was so good. I liked the first 4 or 5.
Last few have just been re-hash of same themes, gratutitous descriptions of violence against women and children beyond the call of storyline and repetitive prose - like maybe the editor hasn't actually bothered reading it at all. Every page has a deja vu moment! Not good. Skimming is the only way to get to the end!
BUT I want to know how it all ends!

me too

I often wondered why he didn't leave the first one alone, and NOT have a series.

BTW, have you seen the film/read the book "Stardust" ?
It reminded me of those books for some reason. I saw the film, but haven't read the book yet...
Although I think it lives in the Children's section of the library
;)

Or round it all off in a nice neat trilogy!?

haven't seen or read stardust...will investigate.
