Has anyone read it ?
I've just started it but heard Katriona being interviewed some months back.
I'm in awe, she got such a bad start in life and yet now has a doctorate in psychology.
I'm also angry on her behalf because she was let down by so many as a child.

I have bought it and it is sat in my bedroom ready to read if my concentration ever comes back ( I have health issues)
I heard about the book on the radio sometime ago. It sounds excellent but having grown up in shite myself I am a bit worried about how upsetting it might be.

I saw her being interviewed about six months ago but haven’t bought her book. I was gobsmacked and in awe of her

By coincidence I bought it this week having been similarly impressed by her interview. Haven't read it yet, but was very interested on flicking thorough to see her analysis of the university access programme she benefited from as being ultimately there to make those administering it feel benevolent, rather than designed around genuine consideration of the needs of the users.

Makes me very interested to read what else she has to say.

Yes. I read it in two days and loaned it to a friend who wanted to read it after I kept talking about how amazing she was. Compelling read. Reminded me a bit of The Outrun in places.

Yes, fantastic book. One of those ones you keep thinking about for a long time after. I devoured it in a weekend. Some parts are very upsetting, particularly if you have similar experiences in your background. But overall a very upligjting read, katriona is a an amazing woman

I listened to the audio book and found it very, very hard to listen to in places but overall it was a great book and I'm glad she's doing well now.
