A Visible World - anyone read this?

I read this for my book group tomorrow night. I'm not sure whether I liked it. I found it very confusing. There were lots of Czech names, and I was never sure if they were places or people. And there was a lot of jumping about time-wise too.

However, I read it very quickly to finish it by tomorrow, and I was wondering if that's why I wasn't overkeen on it. It was very sad, and the writing was very precise, but it did read like a translation (which I think it was.)

I so wanted to like this book. Have I misjudged it? What does anyone else think?

I've not read it but you made me laugh with your description of lots of czech names that were either people or places. I think that's a sign that the book might be a bit "over-written" and tedious. Hope the book group went ok!!

Poodlepusher, all seven of us that read it for book group hated it too - an all time record.

I knew it was a bad omen when I bought the book - I was in the queue, and the person behind me recommended that I didn't waste my money buying it, but got it out the library instead!
