Have posted in chat but this might be better placed here. I am thinking of getting the Harry Potter prequel screenplays for my 11yo. He hasn't seen the films but loved Harry potter books and films. Does anyone have this set and can tell me what their review of them is, I've found very little about them online and couldn't find them in a hunt round our local shops today.

I wouldn't bother. Go and see the show but the script of a play is not the same as reading a novel, I don't think he'd enjoy it, none of my kids have liked it.

Good to know thanks @JaninaDuszejko . Mine loves to read but I was concerned a screenplay wouldn't be as engaging. I can't take him to see the cursed child live but definitely a consideration once he's older.

My bookworm also wasn't particularly keen.

Novels are full of description and explanation. Screenplays and scripts leave all that to the director's imagination.
