Kindle Accountability Thread!

This is a thread for all of us who get sucked in by Kindle Deals (many recommended here!) and now have a completely ridiculous TBR Kindle "pile". How many books (not samples) do you currently have on your Kindle? Confess! Maybe we can spur each other on to get through them without buying any new ones. 🤔 😄

im trying to work out what the stats mean on mine because the numbers don’t add up but I seem to have 1756 unread kindle things, 143 read and 1847 books altogether (5 samples and 1 document- no idea what that is.)

In theory 1756 and 143 should make my books total but it doesn’t.

Either way I’m a fair way ahead of you!! All I need is to break my leg so I can sit for a month!! Or maybe commit a crime and get sent to isolation in jail. Seems a bit drastic but maybe needs must…

Goodness! Are you two expecting to live forever??! 😄 I seem to remember having the same idea last year when my total was a lot lower so it obviously didn't work. I must keep reminding myself that I definitely wanted to read them when I bought them...

I have a kindle link on my phone too so wherever I am a book is just seconds away. 😍😀📚

I have 174 fiction and 91 non fiction on there. I read 15 kindle books last year according to my reading insights. I bought/downloaded 59. Going to try and read more and buy less next year.

Oh mine is ridiculous, but it does have a lot of freebies on it. I've made myself a list of 24 that I spent money on, to read in 2024 -

I also have 12 audible books plus some fantasy series

I only started using a Kindle in April and since then I’ve bought 143 books and read 49 of them so currently 94 unread books (plus 200+ physical books). I have a wish list of 150+ books and can’t resist snapping them up when they’re 99p.

I am so addicted to the 99p deals. I’ve had a kindle since they first came out.
Mine has 1550 books on it. 912 of those are read, 638 unread. Ridiculous number. And that’s not counting physical books or audio.
on the plus side, I read about 100 books a year (161 this year but that’s unusual) so I should get through everything I own in the next 10 years…

I have 145 unread. I don't buy kindle books that often so that's really surprised me.
I'm on a mission now to get that number reduced.

There’s a meme I’ve seen somewhere which is something like “Having hundreds of unread books is the ultimate expression of optimism - you assume you’ll live long enough and have time enough to read them.” But it was expressed much more succinctly and wittily than that!!

I've had kindles for around 12 years. I have 467 unread books, currently. Oh the shame 😳

Tbf some of these are free classics and some are DH's (we share a kindle account). I have planned to have a self-imposed ban on buying books in 2024 so I can clear some of the backlog.
