Dorothy L Sayers on audible

For fans of (listening to) Dorothy L Sayers who have been disappointed by the Jane McDowell narration of the Wimsey books that there seem to be versions of at least some of the books read by Robert Bathurst.

I've just downloaded his reading of Clouds of Witness and hoping it's good!

So I started to listen to Clouds of Witness this evening to accompany me as I do dull household chores. Very much enjoying it so far; he does the voices really well. It's a tricky start because there's a lot of stuff from the inquest - sort of transcribed verbatim.

It also helps that I've always had a bit of a crush on Robert Bathurst.

Does anyone know if Robert Bathurst is going to record any more? I’ve chewed through the first three but am now stalling, don’t want to switch to an inferior narrator!

I got a notification from audible that told me a new Dorothy L Sayers release I might be interested in preordering. I was excited but then so it was "The Unpleasantness at the

A Lord Peter Wimsey Mystery, Book 4
Series: The Lord Peter Wimsey Mysteries, book 5" which A. doesn't make any sense (is it book 4 or book 5?) and B is read by someone called John Rayburn. The cover art is not similar to the Robert Bathurst ones.

I'm almost tempted to get in touch with Robert Bathurst's agent to ask if he was doing any more!!!

I've saved up listening to the 3rd Bathurst recording as I listened to the first two close together @Talipesmum. I'm just hopeful that his readings are just appearing at the normal rate. The first 3 were released together on 16.11.23 apparently.

Thanks @tobee - I’ve looked at that upcoming release and it does not look promising! The narrator is releasing it through his own publishing company “John d Rayburn”, looks like a whole selection of “classics” with bad artwork, and the small number with reviews are very negative about the narration!

Go on, contact Robert Bathurst! It’s worrying me that it might have been a one off. I looked on the Hodder & Stoughton website but didn’t see anything. Fingers crossed!
