Have you read:

Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi

Anything by William Boyd is a good read, try Restless or Love Is Blind.

Anything by Robert Harris is worth looking at, Pompeii and An Officer And A Spy are among my favourites.

A Gentleman In Moscow by Amor Towle is a very engaging read.

Clock Dance
French Braid - both by Anne Tyler
The Miseducation of Evie Epworth and All About Evie both by Matson Taylor

Second William Boyd novels (Any Human Heart was loved by all at my book club (rare)) and Elizabeth is Missing by Emma Healey.

Your list made me think of Where the Crawdads Sing.

Your list made me think of Where the Crawdads Sing.

And me. I didn't add as thought that OP had probably read it (as whole World seemed to at one time!) but good idea to put it on OP's list

littlem133 · 20/11/2023 10:33

I haven't read Where the Crawdads Sing. It does look good. And I like the look of Elizabeth is Missing

Good ones for December are Christmas at the Beach Hut by Veronica Henry, Skipping Christmas by John Grisham or A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

Good wintry reads are:

The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey,
Away with the Penguins by Hazel Prior & Beartown by Fredrik Backman

I'll have a think and see what else I can come up with Wink
